Lead Tutor and Academic Consultant
Personal Statement
“Hi, I'm Caleb. I'm a tutor with a background in aerospace and mechanical engineering, and I'm currently doing a PhD at the University of Cambridge. My research looks at ways to reduce the climate impact of aircraft contrails, but teaching has always been just as important to me as research.
Since 2022, I've been a Supervisor at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, where I teach small groups of first- and second-year students in maths. I also started tutoring much earlier (back in high school). I worked with students who had failed maths before, and it was really rewarding to see them turn things around and pass with confidence.
My approach to teaching is friendly and down to earth. I know how intimidating complex topics can seem, so I focus on breaking ideas down into simple steps and making sure students feel supported along the way. I'm genuinely invested in my students' progress, and nothing makes me happier than seeing them succeed.”
